Boke’s button (Epithelantha bokei) cactus (also known as the smooth button) grows on raised limestone hills and ledges in the Chihuahuan Desert of South Texas and northern Mexico. In times when water is available it is an almost completely rounded cactus, with small tubercles that are completely obscured by the very dense coating of tiny white spines which give the appearance of a smooth, felty coating. In times of extreme drought the plant shrinks to a concertina-like form (shown in bottom photo). These rare and obscure “Living Rock” cacti are a must have for the cactus enthusiast. The Boke’s Button is very resistant to drought and does well in full sun. You will receive a 1-2 inch button.
