Pedilanthus tithymaloides ‘Variegatus’ has numerous names, among them Variegated Devil’s Backbone, Japanese Poinsettia, Slipper Spurge, Redbird Cactus, Christmas Candle and a changed scientific name Euphorbia tithymaloides ‘Variegatus’. It Can grow to 6 feet tall making sensuous twists and turns on the way. The real attraction is the zigzag stems with the green and white leaves. The blooms are said to look like red birds, hence one of it’s common names. Great architectural plant. Drought resistant. Great winter houseplant.
