DoLeaf is an online marketplace for finding and buying plants from independent garden centers and specialty nurseries. Take a look around and we're sure you'll find something you like.

Our Mission

We are a team of gardeners and web developers who became frustrated with the plant selection and lack of expertise provided by our local big box garden centers. After going to community gardens, farmers’ markets and plant swaps, we realized the number of great growers in our area who lacked the time and technical expertise to connect with people online. Also, we found a number of small websites for independent garden centers, but no place that brought these sites together. We started DoLeaf to connect gardeners with specialty nurseries and independent garden centers in order to share experiences, expertise, practices, and a love of gardening.

We made DoLeaf so that expert sellers could easily set up stores and begin listing plants quickly, while buyers could find a wide selection of plants based on their growing conditions and needs. And, like our gardens, DoLeaf is always growing so if you have suggestions, we’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us.

Our Team

Sarah Toton

Sarah lives and gardens in Atlanta, GA. She has a love of hostas that she inherited from her mother. Her grandmother, Mildred, also gardened and worked at Besdek’s Nursery in Marion, Iowa. Sarah’s favorite pasttimes are growing plants and touring gardens and farms. She’s very happy that DoLeaf brings together both of these things online.

Ryan Felton

Ryan grew up on a small family owned farm in rural Iowa, and from Day One he was playing in the dirt. Growing up, Ryan knew the tastiness of home-grown produce like tomatoes, peas, and cherries. Ryan has lived in various parts of the US with different climate zones, and he now manages an overgrowth of vegetation within his house that he’s collected along the way. Unfortunately he’s missing one key plant; the Lotus Maculatus (Golden Parrot Beak), which he hopes will appear on DoLeaf’s listings in the near future.

Micah Wedemeyer

Micah got into gardening as a way to avoid doing “real” housework. It’s so much easier to dig a hole and plant a shrub than it is to hang a shelf or rewire a light switch. Several years later, there are even more shelves that need hanging and switches that need rewiring, because now he’s both gardening and working to improve DoLeaf so as to help other gardeners.
